Grip End User License Agreement
Version 1.3 — Last updated: February 2, 2026
This agreement applies to Grip software from Adam Baker, and any successor entity ("The Author", "we", "us", "our"). By installing or using Grip ("the Software"), you agree to these terms.
Grip is designed for use with Ableton Live. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ableton AG. Ableton and Live are trademarks of Ableton AG.
To use Grip, Ableton Live must be installed on the same computer as Grip for Mac. We test with specific versions of Ableton Live and do not guarantee compatibility with all versions, future versions, or modified builds. Ableton may make changes that affect Grip's functionality.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to install and use the Software on your devices, subject to the activation limits of your license. This license is non-transferable — you may not sell, share, or give away your license to others.
The Software is licensed, not sold. You're getting the right to use it, not ownership of it.
Restrictions
Please don't:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except where applicable law expressly permits
- Share your license key with others
- Distribute the Software without our written permission
- Use the Software for anything illegal
Ownership
We own the Software and all intellectual property rights in it. Third-party components included with the Software (including open source software) are subject to their respective license terms. Attributions and licenses for these components are included with the Software.
Third-Party Software
The Software is designed to work with Ableton Live and may work with other third-party software. We do not provide, endorse, or grant any license to third-party software. Compatibility is not guaranteed. Your use of third-party software is governed by your separate agreements with those providers.
Network Communication
Grip communicates with Ableton Live over your local network. This communication stays within your local network and is not routed through our servers. It may be affected by your network configuration, firewall, or security software.
License Verification
The Software may contact our servers to verify your license. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Disclaimer
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not responsible for any damage to your computer, data loss, or other issues arising from use of the Software — including audio issues, project corruption, or unintended changes to your Ableton Live sessions. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Use it at your own risk. Back up your work. Save often.
Because some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for certain damages, these limitations may not apply to you.
Termination
This license is effective until terminated. If you violate any of these terms, your license terminates automatically. Upon termination, you must stop using the Software and delete all copies.
Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
